New increase in Visa Application Charges from 1 July 2019
The Australian Government recently announced a planned 5.4% increase in the Visa Application Charge for applications made after 1 July 2019.
In the past visa fees would increase every year but only at the rate of inflation. This year the annual inflation rate in Australia fell to 1.3 percent in the first quarter 2019 down from 1.8 percent in the previous period. The increase in visa fees this year is around 4 times the inflation rate.
Approximate fees based on the increase for some common visa types are below:

Notes: There will be no increase to the Second Visa Application charge for the Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143) and there will be no increase to the Visitor visa (Subclass 600).
To avoid the new fees we suggest you should submit any pending application before the end of June 2019 where possible.
